Exercise Unit 5
I had a positive experience with both last weeks exercise and this week. Again, I had a static problem with the CD so I continued it on my own. I think I enjoyed this weeks better. I became very calm and the mind became still. I did notice myself loosing focus at times. I focused on my breathes to regain focus. The benefits have actually made me have less anxiety. I seem to get a lot of anxiety and I believe it is from taking on too much at once. Therefore, these exercises are helping. I hope to get my husband involved as well. He seems to react, which causes him great stress. I have learned to complete all my tasks before working on these exercises, if I do not I will not succeed in the exercises.
Spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness
I have noticed that spiritual and mental wellness needs to be connected and that I have been lacking in the spiritual. Physical wellness is my strength. I just now need to connect all three. I have let my mind take over with no spiritual connection since I have been so busy. Starting to connect the two has been a great experience. I am holding true that I will create a meditation room in my home. Both my husband and I are lacking in this area and we can make the connection together when we put our meditation room together. I am looking forward to creating this room. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get to it until June. I have to finish remodeling my bathroom and then we our off to Canada for a relaxing trip at the end of May!

Im sitting here thinking..probably there is not suppose to be one "wellness" that is more important than the others-BUT I really feel that spiritual wellnes, to me, should be the one that we as people should work on the most. And also, like you, my spiritual wellness falls below the other two.
ReplyDeleteI guess having spiritual wellness one would understand that there is a point to everything that we do. Everything has a reason. Without this knowledge, without any kind of spiritual wellness- what would be the point of living?!
Hi Amanda, I'm glad that you are enjoying the CD as I am also, I'm learning fron your blog that you are a multitasker, therefore your mental chatter is continous. I would suggets that you continue to relax and enjoy the CD, also getting your husband involved is a great idea, having him there may help you relax even more.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteThat meditation room sounds like a good idea. I think it is important to take time out of your day to unwind your mind and de-stress a bit. I went out this weekend with friends for a day in NYC to walk around shop and have a few drinks and that is exactly what I needed to unwind because lately my life has been too much work and no play. Have a great trip to Canada I hear it is beautiful, I have a friend who lives in Vancouver that I have promising to visit so maybe this year I will take a trip.
Hi Amanda, I had the same problem with the CD. Wow, so funny to hear you talk about a meditation room. I have always wanted the same thing, except I call it a "spa room". I feel that the environment in which you try to meditate, or quiet the mind is so very important. Being that I live in a fairly small home with three children, there are no quiet areas in my house. I had to send everyone out just to hear this relaxation exercise, (only to be suprised by static, though). Still, it is so nice to have a place to be quiet. I always have a sense of calm, when I visit a spa. I would love, one day in the future to devote one room in the house just for that!!
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
ReplyDeleteI think that the white noise was part of the CD. I must say that all of us have thought that there was something wrong with our CDs. Lol. I thought that i got a messed up one till i read our peers blogs and i noticed that we are all mentioning the static or white noise in our post so i guess it confirms that it is part of the exercise. I guess it tests our focus. Well good luck with having your husband participate with you in meditating.
