How do I rate myself?

So it is always difficult to rate yourself so I will do my best.

For my physical well being I would rate myself as about a 7. I would like to exercise more. This just becomes difficult when taking 3 classes and working full time. I have no doubt that I will pick up my activity one I graduate in August.
Goal: To exercise 3 days a week while in school and increase to five times per week when I graduate in August.
Activity:walking, biking, hiking and running

My spiritual well being is about a 5. I need much improvement on this. I very rarely take time to work on this aspect. When I did yoga I felt much more in tune with my spiritual side. Again I hope to get back to it after I graduate.
Goal: To make time for spiritual reflection at least one time per week
Activity:meditation or yoga

My psychological well being is all over the place. I need more clarity with my mind. Taking on too many things at once fogs my mind.
Goal: Not to commit to more then 2 items at one time.
Activity: Learn to say no

So once I graduate I hope to see the connection between all three grow.

  1. Amanda,

Who better to understand what you are going through than your classmates? Wow! Taking three classes and working full time? You are a super woman.

I like your idea of yoga, killing two birds with one stone. You get to work on your physical and spiritual side at the same time. You will also be adding flexibility into your routine as well.

You could save walking and hiking for those beautiful days but when the weather turns, you could pop a DVD in to do your yoga. Professor Mark gave some great options in the mass email. I know this is easier said than done of course.

I think you are right about once you finished school you will have more time.

You are not alone in trying to find time for yourself in this crazy school and work schedule. Your idea of incorporating yoga is wonderful and I think it will be something my future clients can do.

Hang in there, the end is near for you, August isn't that far away :)

  2. Wow Amanda three classes and working fulltime is tough good for you. I am only taking two classes and working fulltime and it is tough especially hard on my personal life when it comes to finding time to be human. Some days it feels like all I do is work, but it sounds like you have some great goals so good for you!

  3. Hi Amanda, your story sounds all too familiar. I think your idea of yoga is great. Maybe if you could just start by telling yourself to wake up early just two mornings one week and take some time to exercise, maybe with a yoga dvd, then go from there. I was told once that when starting out an exercise routine to only plan on doing it twice a week. Once you have fit that nicely into your schedule, you can build on it. Wow, that sounds so good, I think I will take my own advice!! Good luck Amanda, Jenny
